EASTLAND COUNTY CHILD WELFARE BOARD

Our mission is to meet the needs of abused, neglected and underprivileged children in our county while assisting foster parents and Child Protective Services in helping the children under their care.

Hunter Beaton's hope is to give foster children a sense of belonging, comfort and dignity.  The ability to arrive at a new home with something that is theirs; something they can control during an otherwise chaotic time.

What We Do

WHAT WE DO

Because Every Child Matters

Eastland County Child Welfare Board wants people to be knowledgeable about the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

Our board members work at a grassroots level to serve the children placed under Child Protective Services in Eastland County.

We:

  • Work to meet the tangible needs of children receiving CPS services by provide clothing, school supplies, toiletries and Day 1 bags through our “Rainbow Room”

  • Host holiday celebrations and other special events for caseworkers and foster children

  • Provide support for families

  • Sponsor public awareness events to promote child abuse prevention and recruit foster and adoptive homes

  • Coordinate with courts and judges in pioneering solutions that support children and families and work to eliminate abuse and neglect

HOST OUR NEW

TRAVELING BANNER

We're looking for businesses in Eastland County to display our Traveling Banner.  Our mission is to educate people about child abuse and neglect as a way to advocate for our local children.  The banner gives statistics for child abuse and neglect in Eastland County.  We include our website on the banner as a resource for those looking for opportunities to help local children who are currently in foster or kinship care.  Our website also provides current information on becoming a foster parent.

CHRISTMAS PROJECT

Miracle on Main Street

Many of our children have not only never had a Merry Christmas, they have faced some of their greatest trauma at Christmas time. Children should be able to experience the magic of Christmas without fear.  In partnership with our donors, we provide our foster children with what may be their first real Christmas experience ever.

Hunter's Story

NO MORE TRASH BAGS FOR FOSTER KIDS

Last year, more than 19,000 Texas children were removed from their homes due to evidence of abuse or neglect. Taken from everything they know and placed in foster care due to no fault of their own, many of these kids arrived at their placements wide-eyed and overwhelmed – with a trash bag of hastily packed possessions, if anything at all.

But one remarkable young man is helping these children in his own unique way...
